A menu board placed in front of a bar in the town of Longreach, Australia, has sparked a racism scandal.
John Hawkes, owner of the bar, installed a banner which included a message considered offensive to Muslims. Basically, the massage said that all Muslims are forbidden to go inside his bar. “2000 years ago, Jesus made first page when He turned water into wine. The tradition continues. We transform money into beer. Sorry, no Muslims allowed”, was the message that caused a series of heated reactions on social networks.
After a wave of negative comments, Hawkes removed the banner, but only apologized to his family for all the threat phones they had received as a result of his gesture.
