Shelley-Marie Sumner, a young woman from the UK, suffered almost her entire teenage years because of severe eczema which affect almost her entire face and body. Due to her illness, the young woman was subjected to a bullying ordeal, as her high school colleague nicknamed her “snake skin”. “People would try and get away from me like I was contagious”, said Shelley.
The years passed, but no remedy was found to cure her eczema. But towards the end of adolescence, the disease was cured by itself, and Shelley’s boyfriend persuaded her to enroll in a Miss contest which she won.
