These days, you can find out pretty much any information you want with the touch of a button, or with a click. Still, there are some mysteries that are hard to solve, even considering that the Internet offers an infinite source of information.
There’s no shortage of photos across social media that depict certain objects that most of us are not familiar with. Whether they are old appliances that are no longer in use or home inventions that never left the garage, there are all sorts of objects that would make most of us want to take a closer look before we can say what they are – and that would still leave us scratching our heads.
Well, the object depicted in the video below belongs to that category of odd objects. But believe it or not, this was actually a common tool at the time when it was most used. Some people thought it is an old can opener, while others thought it was actually some sort of miniature shovel used for gardening in the eighties.
Can you guess what it is before you read any further?
Here, I’ll give you a hint. It was used to extract something out of a container.
That probably wasn’t very useful, right? I’ll make it up to you and tell you what it is already. it’s a vintage oil can opener spout which was used to open tins of turbine engine oil. The tip of the spout had a point end meant to pierce the top of the tin, which then gave the person using it access to the oil.
That explains its shape that is very similar to that of the can openers we use today. Share this post with your friends and see if they can figure out what it is.
If you like it, share the joy! Make someone’s day better!
