Freia, the Canadian Eskimo Sled Dog Who Loves to See the World from Above
Freia is a Canadian Eskimo Sled dog who loves to have a view. One winter, she used accumulated snow to get on the roof of her family home in Yellowknife, in Canada’s Northwest Territories. From that point on, Freia sought out the roof to peruse the neighborhood.
David Livingstone, Freia’s owner, says the breed loves to explore new territory.
“They explore and test their environment. These dogs like to have a view, and clearly she has a view.”
Now, Freia has a special set of steps so she can perch in her favorite spot and watch her neighbors.
Freia’s love of heights is not unusual for her breed. Canadian Eskimo Sled dogs are known for their intelligence, athleticism, and love of adventure. They are also very social dogs, and they enjoy being able to see what’s going on around them.
Freia’s story is a reminder that dogs are individuals with their own unique personalities and interests. Just like humans, some dogs love to explore and have a view of the world around them. If you have a dog who loves heights, be sure to provide them with a safe and secure place to enjoy the view.
