Louis Leo Holtz is a former American football player, coach, and analyst. And he’s also one of the most successful and richest people in the world. His experience is tremendous, so it’s no surprise that he was invited to deliver the commencement speech at a top university in the United States.
But Holtz decided to go beyond the typical inspirational commencement speech and inject some of his personal philosophy into it. The legendary college football coach Lou Holtz talked about a 3-point list of rules that he wished he knew when he was 21 years old.
According to his powerful speech, it all comes down to these three values: trust, commitment and love. As long as you let these three core values guide your steps, you will be able to make the best decisions for your life.
Of course, applying these rules is usually easier said than done. But remember there’s nothing we can’t do as long as we set our mind to it (expect for maybe resist the urge to eat cheese while grating it).
These rules will come in handy no matter how old you are, because it’s never too late to change things up and try something new.
